Heart disease is the second leading cause of death in Canada. There are at least 8 risk factors for heart disease that a person can control and 3 risk factors that cannot be controlled. It is widely known that in Canadians over 20 years old, 9 in 10 have at least one risk factor while 4 in 10 have 3 or more risk factors.
