Testimonials
First Visit / Meet & Greet
  • If it is your first visit to the practice please note it is to gather your medical history and introduce you to the practice. We won’t be addressing medical issues on this visit unless it is urgent. A follow-up visit will be booked to address your medical concerns.
Making an Appointment
  • Requesting an appointment online means that same day appointments cannot be considered. Please allow up to 72-hrs for your request to be responded to.
  • We do our best to reserve appointments to accommodate concerns that should be seen urgently.  If your need is urgent please call the clinic directly 403-949-2457. Urgent visits requested by telephone will be evaluated and may be given a same-day visit if deemed urgent.
  • The office is not responsible for reminding you about your appointment. That remains your responsibility. A no show fee will be applied for missed appointments.
  • If you are unable to make your appointment please try to cancel at least 24-hours prior to the appointment time. Appointments cancelled with less than 24-hours notice will be subject to a cancellation fee.
  • If you arrive late for your appointment we might ask you to reschedule as we try to stay on time and avoid unnecessary delays for patients.
  • When phoning in to book an appointment the receptionist may inquire about the reason for the appointment. This is to help us prepare and allocate appropriate time for your concern.
  • Average office visits are 10 minutes long. Due to this time limit we might not be able to address all your concerns in one visit. We will manage the most urgent ones first and then schedule a follow-up appointment to address the remaining issues.
  • We try our best to limit waiting room times as much as possible but because a medical practice is unpredictable there is a chance that you may have to wait to see the doctor. Remember one day it may be you that needs a bit more time to sort out your medical concern.
  • Please arrive 10-minutes before your scheduled appointment to check in and have your vitals taken if needed.
Prescriptions
  • We do not renew prescriptions over the phone, so be sure to make an appointment at least 2 weeks before you run out.
  • We do not often give repeat prescriptions for an extended period of time, such as 12-months. It is important that we review you periodically to look for any side-effects, the need for change of dosage, etc. Patients with chronic illnesses like hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and thyroid problems will be seen every 3 to 4 months for review.
  • This office follows evidence-based guidelines for all prescriptions, including antibiotics, narcotics and medications for stress related conditions. Therefore we reserve the right to refuse prescriptions if not deemed medically indicated.
Referrals to other Medical Specialists - what you need to know
  • Referrals are initiated by your family doctor and are faxed to the appropriate medical pathway or specialist. Our standard practice is to follow up on all referrals within 30 days to confirm that it has been received and to inquire about the status of the referral, including wait times, appointment dates, etc. Urgent referrals are followed up immediately.
  • Referral wait times vary and can be lengthy, depending on how they are triaged (emergent, urgent, semi-urgent and routine) by the specialist. As wait lists can be lengthy, it is your responsibility to keep your appointments. Please note that most specialist's offices have cancellation policies in place. Failure to keep your appointment without providing 48 hours cancellation may subject to a 'no show' fee. Additionally, if the referral is still required, in most cases a new referral will have to be made and the process starts all over again.
  • You may be contacted directly by the specialist's office or medical facility to book your appointment. Otherwise, our office will contact you with their appointment details.
WHAT OUR PATIENTS ARE SAYING
I made the decision to leave a longstanding relationship with a competent doctor in the city for what I hoped would be more of a traditional family physician environment with seasoned, connected professional that I could work with.  Did I find it with the Care in the Creek team?  Absolutely!  ~ PF  ... more
